Double headstone No 181, at All Saints Churchyard, Shelve.
Catherine, nee Brazenor, on right side.
The inscription reads:-
Sacred to the memory of Catherine, wife of Mark Preece,
she died 14th Sept 1845, aged 65 years.
Weep not for me my children dear
Nor mourn for me my friends
I hope my soul’s in that blessed place
Where pleasure never ends.
Mark Preece, on left side.
The inscription reads:-
Sacred to the memory of Mark Preece who departed
this life 21st April 1846, aged 60 years.
A tender husband and father dear
A faithful friend lies sleeping here
Mouldering in the silent dust
Till Christ shall come to raise the just.
